Torres is a Mexican-Australian visual artist whose artistic journey spans two continents. “My art presents a series of artworks that focuses in my experiences as immigrant. My aim is to let the audience experience in a conscious way, what is it to be an immigrant. It’s an invitation to a trip to understand that we are all nomads and travellers. In my work I present the story and description of my dreams, motivations, and aspirations. My intention is to capture the emotions that intersect my life experiences. My art is the physical form in which I connect with my roots, especially with the intention of preserving memories that I value and treasure as the wisdom legacy that I have gifted to receive. It’s a tribute to the people that are not here and have nurtured me in all possible ways, a connection to my past, an invitation to value the possibility of the future and an attempt to love the present.
